Frequently asked questions
Most owners notice a shinier coat and less scratching within 3 to 4 weeks of daily use. Skin repair and joint support take longer — allow 6 to 8 weeks for full results. Consistency is key: one missed day won't matter, but skipping weeks will slow progress.
Yes, and we recommend it. The probiotic chews work from the inside — fixing the gut imbalance that causes yeast symptoms. The salmon oil works on the outside — reducing skin inflammation and repairing the coat damage the yeast left behind. They target different parts of the same problem.
If your dog has a confirmed fish or salmon allergy, do not use this product. Fish oil is derived directly from salmon and will trigger the same immune response as eating fish. If you are unsure, speak to your vet before starting.
Most supermarket fish oils are made from farmed salmon or mixed fish sources, which have lower Omega-3 concentrations and may contain traces of antibiotics or artificial colouring. ZeniPet uses wild-caught Pacific salmon only, cold-pressed to preserve the full EPA and DHA content. Farmed salmon can have up to 50% less Omega-3 than wild-caught.
Yes. Salmon oil is safe for puppies from 8 weeks old. Use half the recommended dose for the first two weeks to allow their digestive system to adjust, then move to the full dose. DHA is particularly beneficial for puppies as it supports healthy brain and eye development.
Starting with too much oil too quickly is the most common cause of loose stools. Start at half the recommended dose for the first week and build up gradually. If your dog already has a sensitive stomach, pour it over food rather than giving it directly from a spoon.
